Who Is Nicole Louise

After completing her TAFE Fashion Course Nicole (Nicki) worked for several bridal stores in the Sydney area.  After a few years of working in these stores she noticed a need for a bridal couture that specialized in fitting the ‘hard to fit’ brides that the retails stores didn’t want to know about.  Nicki left her employment and started Nicole Louise Designs in the basement of her parent’s house in Engadine, NSW where she successfully created wedding gowns, bridesmaid gowns, mother of the bride and groom outfits and formalwear for clients across the Sutherland Shire and Greater Sydney.  In 2006 Nicki married and moved with her husband to Kingsgrove in Sydney’s Inner West and then relocated again in 2009 to the present location of Farmborough Heights a suburb of Wollongong where she now has a customized studio to continue helping brides of Sydney and Wollongong.

In 2008 and 2009 Nicki’s gowns were highlighted in the fashion parades of several leading Bridal Shows through out Sydney.  This also led to gowns being shown in the Bride’s Diary magazine.

Nicki Simmons (nee Laurenson) was born in Sutherland and grew up in the Sutherland Shire.  She studied fashion at both Engadine High School and St George Tafe where she was selected to continue on to complete a fourth year course including showing her gowns at the Opera House.

In 2006 she married her husband Sean in a small ceremony in the Hunter Valley wearing her own creation.  In 2007 Nicki gave birth to her beautiful daughter Emilie who currently keeps both her and Sean on their toes!!

Nicki’s hobbies include cross stitch and knitting and she also follows V8 supercars.  Nicki also enjoys creating cakes for birthdays and weddings and has now started her own cake business Cakes by Nooh.

Nicki also enjoys helping the community and most recently has worked with the Year 12 Fashion Students at The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS) where several pieces of work were selected to travel the state in the Centre of Excellence road show.
